Meet Mr. Zimmerman; Stoney Creek Elementary School’s new principal for the 2017-18 school year.  He is serving a second administrative term with Caswell County Schools.  Last year he was an assistant principal with Bartlett Yancey High where he served as the 9th and 10th grade administrator and provided leadership to the Math, Science, and CTE departments.  He was employed with Guilford County Schools for seven years as a teacher (Dudley), one year as a central office teacher on special assignment, three years high school administrator (Grimsley), and six years as a middle school administrator (Kiser and Guilford Middle).  He left the public school system the summer of 2012 to serve as the Head of School (founding principal) for Hope Academy; a private, faith based modified-middle school for underserved youth grades 5th-8th living in the Glenwood and greater-Glenwood community of Greensboro.

Zimmerman is passionate about encouraging young people.  He strongly believes that students must use education as a tool to transform their future and maximize their potential. He constantly seeks to positively influence the life of others through service. He has served on the Greensboro Pregnancy Care Center Board and is currently serving as a board member for PEAK Adventure’s Ministries.  In addition, Zimmerman is an active member and deacon for Pleasant Garden Baptist Church, a life member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider.  He graduated from NC A&T State University with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics-Secondary Education and earned his Master’s degree in School Administration from UNC-Greensboro.  He is a native of Raleigh-NC, has been married for 23 years to the former Stacey Williamson (BYHS Class of ‘89) and the father of three children, Edgar, Jr. (NCA&TSU, junior), Lawson (12th  grader), and Stasia (9th grader).

Zimmerman is excited about serving as the new principal for Stoney Creek Elementary and hopes that his philosophy of education (All students can learn, we must provide students with a solid educational foundation allowing them to grow and prepare for life) will assist all SCES students and their families in a successful transition to middle school.  Mr. Zimmerman is looking forward to an exciting year of “Creating New Traditions” at Stoney Creek Elementary for the 2017-18 academic school year.

Go – Panthers!
